WHAT:             Practical, hands-on workshop focused on the financial incentives and policies that can assist the development of community wind projects up to 660 kw nameplate capacity

 

WHEN:             Wednesday, January 11, 2012 from 8:30 – 12:30 p.m., followed by optional planning and strategy session on policy and community wind ending at 2:00 p.m.

8:30 – 9:00 a.m.:         Registration, networking

9:00 – 12:30 p.m.:       Keynote and Presentations

12:30 – 12:45 p.m.:     Break

12:45 – 2:00 p.m.:       Planning and Strategy Meeting over lunch

 

WHERE:           Hilton Garden Inn, Freeport, Maine

 

TOPICS:            Utilizing Financial Incentives through:

 o   Small Wind Rebates and update on Efficiency Maine wind-related Program Incentives

 o   Net Metering incentives

 

WHY:         The purpose of this workshop is to promote and cultivate the understanding and application of Maine’s suite of community wind policies and incentives for wind turbine projects in the size range of 660 kw and under, learning from experiences in ME, MA, NY, and other New England states, from experts currently utilizing these incentives to grow and market their businesses and helping clients become “greener”, more energy independent and sustainable.

Educational credit for professional engineers is available. Please let us know if you are seeking credit.

*For the purposes of this workshop, we use definitions as they are generally applied to the above-named policy incentives at the Efficiency Maine Trust and the Public Utilities Commission, such that “small wind” includes turbines sized up to and including 100 kw, and “medium wind” includes those sized between 101 kw and up to and including 660 kw.
